Quality assurance support in the Personal Learning Plan

Quality assurance of the SACE occurs through a four phase cyclic process involving: planning, clarifying, confirming and improving.

The future SACE office and the SACE Board have supported schools in planning for the Personal Learning Plan through workshops delivered in Terms 3 and 4, 2008 and Term 1, 2009. These workshops provided teachers with opportunities to plan assessment programs and develop individual assessments for their cohort as part of their planning process. The SACE Board will provide further support for schools commencing the Personal Learning Plan in Semester 2 through planning forums that will build on teachers’ understanding of assessment design at the program and task levels.

Clarifying forums will be conducted by the SACE Board in weeks 9 and 10 of Term 1 for schools delivering the Personal Learning Plan in Semester 1 or across the full year in 2009. In these forums teachers will discuss and apply the performance standards to further a shared understanding of the standards. Dates, times and locations will be published on the SACE Board website and on-line community. Clarifying forums will also be held late in Term 3 for schools commencing the Personal Learning Plan in Semester 2.
